Bottle, 2003 version. Dark amber, ok head. Has a clearly floral aroma. Flavor is floral as well, and sweetish. Has a sour touch in the finish.

1999 Vintage sampled in November of 03. This is what a seaonal should be. Deep dark colour with a spicy nose. Tastes of cloves and cinnamon maybe a little orange.

11/15/03. Poured out of 12 oz. bottle, bought at A & J Liquor in Covina, CA 11/10/03. 2001 Vintage. Dark brown, opaque, with slight orange highlights. Uniform, dark tan head that dissipates with decent lacing. Cinnamon and nutmeg aromas. Slight scent like a sweet whisky-- Jack Daniels. Slightly cinnamon-pretzelly in flavor with muted but present sweetness. Medium-thin mouthfeel with creamy malt and dark bitter malt flavors. Slightly sweet, and flavorful with spices. Finish is very drying from spices and malt. Long but not that multi-dimensional. Still a very nice brew for Christmastime. Different and very nice.

1998 bottle-poured a deep brown color with light head. good carbonation. Super sweet aroma-malts, spice, carrot cake and brown sugar. Start of flavor was very sour. I dont know if this was from aging or what, but it was sour. mellowed to a sweet coffee/nutty finish. I dont know if this is the proper profile for a 1998 OSA aged bottle because i had nothing to compare it to. I think for a 5 year old bottle of beer, its not to bad!

2000 - Deep ruby just the faintest bit of light makes it through. The head is small and tan. Lacing is ok. Aroma is spices galore, ginger, coriander, other stuff. The flavor is the same as the aroma. Lots of ginger. Almost a bit like juicy fruit but not as sweet. Has seriously mellowed over time. Body is medium/light.

Draft, shaker glass. Pitch brown with ruby edges and no head (bar). Chocolate and coffee malt (M); spruce, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg. Slightly warmer than the Sweetwater Festive Ale I had a few nights ago. Heavily sweet flavor becomes a moderately sweet, heavily spicy, lightly acidic finish. Medium-heavy body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: deep, rich, spicey, sweet...a hot beer for a cold night.

1999: One dimensional corainder/gingerbread beer. No complexity, or ale-like qualities apparent. Maybe this didn't hold up well to aging on the shelf at the beverage store!
