A deep red beer with a beutiful beige head. The aroma is dominated by spruce. The flavor is sweet with notes of spruce and ginger. The flavors really brings back memories of Christmas - but they are rather weird to have in a beer. I think this beer is more special than it is good, but definatly worth a try. I expected more.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Beautiful, clear chestnut brown with a warm, reddish glow. Creamy, beige head. Lightly vinous and raisiny aroma. Surprisingly light body, notes of roasted malt and some indefinable spices. Lovely, almost exotic. 221005

Bottled. Dark ruby with rich head. Strong aroma of nutmeg, grapefruit and cinnamon. Sweet with short, rounded maltiness. Medicinal finish with a lot of bitterness. Still a bit raw. A lighter version of Traquair Jacobite Ale.

Dark ruby red, whispy tan head, fresh spruce aroma with lots of spices, rich dark malt flavor, lots of chocolate, balanced by tons of spices, incredable rich malt character, should age very well

spices tend to be stronger on draft and overpower malt character, cinamon comes through stronger, mmlt starts to show up again at the end

slightly sweet chocolate malt aroma, still a very nice spice character well blended with rich chocolate malt, the best mix of mellowed spices with the malt of a 98-05 lineup

Tawny color; creamy, beige head. Strong aroma: malt, roasted malt, caramel, phenol, liquorice, raisins... Dry mouthfeel, with some of the same components, but lighter and not surprising as the aroma; ending with a coffee note as well.

Dark brown body with small creamy brown head. Aroma is chocolate, raisin, spruce. Taste is raisin, spruce, light chocolate, mild bitterness. Creamy medium-full body. Less impressed with this than in past years.
