Rotorhead87 (117), Temple, Texas, USA Dec 9, 2007 A good solid porter. Tastes like coffee and chocolate with a similar finish, though the lingering taste is a bit bitter for me. Good solid beer, but I don’t know that I will get it again. mistersinalin (367), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Dec 8, 2007 This is a nice smooth porter with a clean finish. There are some roasted flavors that are quite powerful then clear quickly leaving a lighter that a actual feel. Really good beer. petermadsen (391), Vesterbronxxx, Denmark Dec 8, 2007 Nearly jet black with a fine, light brown head.
The aroma is a bit fruity with coffee and some light burned notes.
The flavour is full and round with fruity esters working their magic in company with the choco and malty notes. Round but a little thin in the body Guerde (693), Welcome, Minnesota, USA Dec 7, 2007 (bottle) Probably one of the first porters I’ve had before I started rating, decided to re-visit it again. Pours a dark dark brown with an off-white head that lingers throughout consumption. Aroma is a nice mix of light fruit, dark chocolate, cocoa, and light espresso notes, with a generous amount of roasted barley. Taste is a decent mix of chocolate, roasted barley, with a really nice finish and thick mouthfeel. Quite a nice beer. OSLO (825), Perth, Australia Dec 7, 2007 [Bottle] Pours dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma is barley, and sweet banana, with a bit of chocolate. Taste is similar with barley, more chocolate and the fruity banana sweetness. Good thick mouthfeel with a long finish that is a little dry. Overall not super complex, but a very solid porter. pbmex (1), Wallingford, Vermont, USA does not count Dec 6, 2007 Pours almost black. Nice hints of coffee and chocolate.
