CaptBier (301), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Sep 29, 2007 Bottle. Very nice aroma and nice dark color. Good example of a porter. Strong start and great finish. Hudspart (371), Hudsonville, Michigan, USA Sep 29, 2007 Bottle: Very good porter. Pour dark with a dark frothy head. Chocolate aroma and taste. A little mild, but good. jwdevalue (158), Neptune, New Jersey, USA Sep 29, 2007 This is part of a beer club tasting. Only had one bottle but it was a decent taste for the price. Would like to try again after it poured great and left a nice after taste. Dough77 (771), Aurora, Illinois, USA Sep 28, 2007 Had this brew with a small brick of sharp cheddar and loved em both. Very smooth if a little watered down, but barely. Pours a dark chocolaty brownish pour with minimal brown head. Nose is huge on chocolate and dark malts. Flavor is as well with nice coffee attribute. Solid. fro2218 (466), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 27, 2007 Um Um good. This is a damn good dark robust porter. Very chocolaty and nutty. The alcohol is present and blends very well. jujubeast6000 (772), Houston, Texas, USA Sep 26, 2007 (bottle): Pours a dark black-brown color. Big light brown head, good lacing. Dark heavy aroma, chocolate and some alcohol. Chocolately roasted taste, with some alcohol. Soft mouthfeel, fizzy. Somewhat acidic with meat pizza. An okay porter. Carlus12 (361), London, Greater London, England Sep 26, 2007 Bottle. Pours deep brown / black with decent foamy head. Aroma is chocolatey / malty with a rich and smooth finish. Taste is of liquorice and coffee. Not bad. pants678 (13), Ft Worth, Texas, USA Sep 21, 2007 The color is absolutely perfect. Rich flavor, but not overpowering really. And though it is a porter I didn’t find it as filling. The head is a nice beige and has a coffee/toasted scent.
