DarkBeerReign (10), Rhode Island, USA May 30, 2009 Very good porter, well balanced and well made. This beer had a very pronounced raisin taste to it, which was surprisingly pleasant. I will definitely buy this beer again. Markys (64), Stockholm, Sweden May 30, 2009 Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, raisin and liquorice. Flavor of roasted malt, coffee and dark syrup. A really good porter. Headbanger (1574), Aurora, Illinois, USA May 26, 2009 22oz bottle 4/17/09-Pours black with a decent head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste of the same with a little sweetness added. This medium to full bodied brew is very well balanced and quite tasty. Great porter. beerbill (1919), Laurel, New York, USA May 23, 2009 12 oz. bottle. I was looking at the list of most rated beers, and did not realize until then that despite having had this beer numerous times, I’ve never rated it. I rectified that at lunchtime today...pours black with a moderate-large light brown head that lasted until nearly the last sip and left a foamy film on the glass. Very pleasant aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is predominantly lightly roasted malt along with just a touch of bitter chocolate. Medium bitterness at the finish. Very solid porter. l1br4r14n (274), Washington, Washington DC, USA May 22, 2009 A delicious porter, smooth and silky. Not too complex, but nice and easy to drink. As refreshing as a porter can be. sdk (33), Island Bay, New Zealand May 18, 2009 330ml bottle. Deep red black with an off white head. Lovely malty nose. Roast flavor with a nice gentle bitter finish. Very nice indeed. studhamster (11), Idaho, USA May 15, 2009 Very dark brown/black pour supporting a creamy tan head. Aroma is of roasted malt. The flavor is a spicy malt with some hop in the finish. donfardz64 (406), Wellington, New Zealand May 11, 2009 354mL bottle from Beerstore.co.nz. Pours deep dark ruby/black with a nice lingering brown head.
Nice roast aromas. I get chocolate mainly, there is a wee bit of dark fruit there too.
Flavour is incredibly roasted. Full of chocolaty roast malt. It fills the mouth with a light bitterness and silky smooth texture. There is some sweetness from the roast malt, which makes this beer very balanced. Finishes with a lot of chocolate and a mild bitterness that begs another sip.
Wow, what beautifully balanced crafted porter. Full of robust flavour, very nice.
