Commercial Description:
San Francisco's famous Anchor Porter brand is made in one of the smallest and most traditional breweries in the world by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer. Our old-fashioned Porter is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. We use 100% malted barley, generous amounts of fresh, whole hops, entirely natural carbonation and a simple, natural brewing process which is like no other in the world. The deep black color, the thick, creamy head and the intensely rich flavor of Anchor Porter, made in San Francisco since 1974, have earned this delicious and unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality. Dark dark brown with a large foamy tan head. Aroma is espresso and chocolate with a slight smokiness. Thick mouthfeel with lots of dark malts and toasty flavours. Finishes slightly hoppy with a drying bitterness. Nice well made porter.

Deep deep deep brown with a milk chocolate head. Smells of delicious dark malt though not especially roasty with strong hints of chocolate. Taste is smooth chocolate which follows into a bitter finish that is more cocoa bitter than hop bitter. A fantastic porter.

Color is black with a greyish head. Taste is a chocolate and roasted malts. A very nice porter.

this was a treat... What a beut!! Nice dark black color with a great head, it glimmers! Good sweet taste that i could drink alll night! Now for the rest...

deep dark brown with tan head. Roasty malty nose with a little yeasty hoppy bitterness. Medium palate with sweet and roasted malts. Slight yeasty, hoppy bitter finish. Not a bad porter.

Bottle. Pours very dark brown with a beige head. Smokey and roasted malt nose with caramel and coffee notes. Medium/full body. Flavor is dominated by the roasted malt. Also notes of sweet caramel and coffee. Nice balanced finish. Very enjoyable.

Big, tight, dirty brown head with a lotto sticky brown laceing.Dark ass porter, opaque.Malty sweet nose.Med/full body.Slick mouthfeel. Sweet malty flavors some grassiness? and roasted malt flavors show themselves in the finish. A little more hop, please.
