Oiliness that swirls in the mouth. A sweetness that is exquisite. Dare I say, better then the Fuller’s- Yes, I will shout it from the mountaintop. Saarlander (1579), Rancho Cucamonga, California, USA

Aroma is sweet roasted malts, with notes of vinous wort with chocolate and coffee goodness. Tastes of dark bread with notes of chocolate, earthy toasted malts, caramelized wort, and raisins. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Surprisingly the hops are not overwhelmed by the other beer dimensions. Exceptionally balanced. A mellow, delightful porter. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 15, 2004 BottlePours a very dark brown, with a modest head that fades to nothing fairy quickly. Very light lacing as well. Aroma is a nice dark rasted grain, some licorice and purple graps as well. The flavor is...well...is not there. Some smokey chared taste, with a touch or molassas and malt, but it is very faint. most of it is after a breath or two passes over the tounge. It is smooth, creamy and a bit heavy and rich. Just lacks any real bold flavor. A little of that smokey, char-coal aftertaste and very little hops haning around. Good but not great. MrBunn (1538), Western, Pennsylvania, USA

Pour is a dark brown with a beautiful tan head. I’m not seeing any light peek through around the edges. Aromas are week, but dark malt and chocolate are present. Flavor is great... a big mix of chocolate, roasted malt and a dark fruit finish are just what the doctor ordered... Nice and full across the palate. hellbilly (1532), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA

thick viscous pour... nearly impenetrable dark brown topped by a tan head. it’s got a luscious mouth feel. aromas of roasty malt, fresh cream, chocolate and light coffee combine with a strange fruity sweetness. aroma carries through to the flavor along with some molasses then finishes tart and lightly hoppy bitter. i tried hating on this but i can’t... it’s pretty solid. 7/4/7/4/17=3.9
