Commercial Description:
San Francisco's famous Anchor Porter brand is made in one of the smallest and most traditional breweries in the world by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer. Our old-fashioned Porter is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. We use 100% malted barley, generous amounts of fresh, whole hops, entirely natural carbonation and a simple, natural brewing process which is like no other in the world. The deep black color, the thick, creamy head and the intensely rich flavor of Anchor Porter, made in San Francisco since 1974, have earned this delicious and unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality. It is aesthetically pleasing and wholly superior in every respect.

Decadent flavor sets the tone: a thick, tasty brew that one could drink forever. Solid in every respect, although the sticky mouthfeel/aftertaste might be a little much if you're trying to talk to someone. Also, the flavor could be somewhat stronger.

Chocolate, carmel and raisins jump out on this one, tasted very fresh, probably due to living in California. Very nice on the palate. Very good.

Opened it up and a plesant smell of bannanas hit me. Poured jet black. This stuff is delicious.

Pours a dark brown/black with a medium tan head. Aroma is mainly roasted malt, little chocolate and a touch of sourness. Medium bodied on the palate and almost creamy in texture. The flavor is semisweet chocolate with hints of caramel and coffee and a touch of raisin. Very rich.

Nice tan thick head that dissipates quickly. DARK brown, almost black color. Beautiful aroma and even better initial taste. The palate doesn’t stay with you long, but this is a nice quality to the beer in my mind. This is a beer I could enjoy every night of the week.

12oz bottle, pours dark brown with a medium creamy looking head. Aroma is all malt. very smooth to drink, I get a nice coffee like taste, little hops at the end. I had a friend try it, who dosen’t normally go dark and he loved it. I only wish I discovered this earlier.

Had it in a pint glass. I really loved this beer. This is the type of beer I could have a few of and still enjoy everyone just as much. The flavors are not over bearing but they are there and delicious. Also it shouldn’t feel you up if you decide to have a few of them at dinner. Or breakfast... Again great beer I loved it, also smooth and it fills your palate and slams your taste buds with a delicious flavor

Poured into a pint glass very dark with a nice tan head. Aroma is amazing with roasted malts. Taste is chocolate-coffee, dark fruits, caramel, and slight bitterness but does not effect the body.
