Commercial Description:
San Francisco's famous Anchor Porter brand is made in one of the smallest and most traditional breweries in the world by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer. Our old-fashioned Porter is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. We use 100% malted barley, generous amounts of fresh, whole hops, entirely natural carbonation and a simple, natural brewing process which is like no other in the world. The deep black color, the thick, creamy head and the intensely rich flavor of Anchor Porter, made in San Francisco since 1974, have earned this delicious and unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality. It is aesthetically pleasing and wholly superior in every respect.

Creamy and smooth. A really top notch, mild porter.

Had this one bottled. Wow. Completely opaque, thick black pour with a thick, dark tan head, nose of orange, clove, caramel and coffee, with notes of chocolate, cherries and baked bread. Wow.

Dark frothy head, very dark color, and good amount of carbonation. An excellent porter with a long roasted, burnt aftertaste. Drinking one of these is almost as fun as DANCING!

Great porter. Dark brown body with a fluffy brown head. Chocolate and coffee notes throughout. Not as rich as I would have liked, but still Anchor’s best beer.

A staple porter with ambiguous hints of bitter hops. Smooth and silky. Excellent close that last forever! Color is deep dark brown. Edges when held in light have a deep dark amber red hue. Tremendous porter.

At first, a sweet sting, giving way to a understated bitterness that continues. Very nice indeed.

(draught) Rich black color with tan head. Roast aroma. Full bodied beer with hints of coffee and dark fruits. Nicely balanced between the hops and malt. Not as "smokey" as a lot of porters--I'd call this a stout.
