| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 21, 2006 22oz bottle - Pours light copper with a one finger head. It has very little aroma, maybe just a little graininess. The flavor is mild hop and malt in a too thin body. The finish is lightly bitter. This one is definitely too watery. joergen (8638), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 2, 2006 Simply put ... a great small beer. Tasty. Aromas are almost non-existent, but this looks like something you want to drink, is nice and smooth and has a wonderfully light and slightly spritzy palate. Always nice. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 30, 2006 Wow, this beer is crapped on by about everyone & it is not bad. It may not be as good as some of their others, but for what it is - its pretty solid. Pours brownish orange with a quickly disappearing head. The aroma has light caramel malt that is a bit earthy and musty. Light body with some prickly carbonation. The taste has light caramel malt and spicy hops - crisp and easy drinking. While it is not an exciting beer it is easy drinking an non-offensive. With the amount of alcohol this would be a very nice session beer. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 14, 2006 Bottle from John, (jjpm74) Thanks!! Man I have wanted to try this forever, because the Anchor beers are what got me into drinking good beer in the first place, so an anchor that for some reason I cannot buy locally is always intriguing. Cant really understand the low rating behind this beer, I have had beers in the top 150 that arent this good . I guess because its a bitter that isnt on cask at the local pub means it gets points taken away. Very lively body and taste. Smooth and refreshing, this is probably a pretty fresh bottle. Some sweetness in the taste, but over all this is a session beer that you could drink a huge amount of. Very refreshing, if I could buy this locally there is no question what I would buy if I needed some session beers. stoutchap (297), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 9, 2006 Interesting concept, nice history lesson - but why bother? And actually, anyone who has ever re-used a tea bag, or tried re-using coffe grounds could probably tell you - re-using mash - not a good idea. Clear amber pour, minimal head. Flat caramel nose and flavor profile. Some hops. Not on par with other Anchor beers. shrubber85 (3004), Wallhalben, Germany
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 8, 2006 Bottle. Syrupy barley malt aroma. Medium amber with small head. Slightly sweet barley malt with moderate hops finish. Very watery. I now understand what Shakepeare’s Henry VI was talking about.
