An Olaf Schellenberg beer. A huge, flavour packed number. Dark and brooding, to be treated with caution.

Bottle. Thanks bierkoning! Pours sarsaparilla colored, crystal clear, with almost no head. Aroma is creamy, with toffee and a hint of citrus. Very warm and malty taste with just this slightest hint of bitterness. Very, very nice.

Had this at Andechser Am Dom, Weinstrasse, (near Cathedral), Munchen, Germany 24-01-08 Deep very dark ruby red coloured beer with medium off white head. Nice softness in the mouth, very silky smooth and refined beer, nice warming alcohol and sweet malts, good beer but not quite as good as I expected.

Darker brown coloured beer with no carbonation and a medium off-white head. Sweeter roasted light coffee caramel aroma with a slightly alcoholic touc. Full creamy palate. Finish is full malty, roasted with a light bitter warming alcoholic touch. Very good one.

Bottle. Sampled at YEHA. Poured a deep red body with thin head. Aroma is rich malt. Flavor is light chocolate, rich malt. Very smooth and rich but a surprising light body.

Deep brown, old snow colored head. Earthy rustic tree root kind of smell, very much 3 ft down and dark. Some plumy caramel. Much more brisk carbonation than expected, emphasized by a touch of wheaty roast. Loamy caramel flavor, licorice, walnuts, a tannic plum skin finish. A beer both wintery and refreshing.
