Fairly rich malty caramel aroma and some toffee too. More rich caramel malty flavors and a touch of some lighter apple fruit notes and a touch of toffee and chocolate and nuts. Drinks smooth and a nice mouthfeel. Very nice. Dorqui (1365), Brescia, Italy
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 2, 2006 Enough abundant and creamy head, good persistence. Burnt brown color, much dark and little fizzy one. Complex and alcoholic scent; braced malty notes, burn wood and liqueur, extremely bitter. Enough dry and arid taste, light notes of licorice surpassed from an overbearing and persistent bitter. Also notes of burnt caramel, ash and alcohol. Medium along final. Beige head, brown/red pour, simply beautiful to look at. Sweet malty nose with dark fruits and a touch of roast. Sweet roasted/toasty beginning, dark fruits and berry finish. Some light caramel notes and slightly stronger cherry. Alcohol is somewhat noticeable, but doesn’t detract. Smooth, soft mouthful with a medium-full body. Is that chocolate I taste at the bottom of the glass? A flavorful and very complex brew. Scandalously good. [4.5] JoshuaB (428), Detroit, Michigan, USA

Wonderful texture, very smooth and easygoing. Taste is lots of sweet caramel malt and some bread notes. Just a shade below Celebrator, but very good nonetheless. Aroma hit me when i opened the bottle of coffee, but thankfully this faded away, moving onto malt sweet notes, mainly caramel, however in a better than normal way. Taste is excellent everythign good about a dunkel, lightly burnt bittering malts with a great sweetness, backed with a slight warming from the alcohol. Such an excellent brew that i would love to try again. sloth (1686), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA

Lace is, well, very lacey and sticky. All this atop a lovely clear brown body accented by a deep ruby red glow. Nose of malt, freshly milled grains, bread thats lightly toasted, very nice indeed. Body is medium, soft textured, loving on yer tongue. Lightly sweet malts are grainy with notes of dark fruits, chocolate, caramel and light toffee notes, a malt lovers dream! Finish is lightly sweet, caramelly. A well rounded representation. I,ve looked forward to sampling this brew since i,ve been on RB. It has proven itself to me! Thanks go out to Springslicker for this one! Thanks Jay!!
