| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Oct 10, 2005 I had it at the Andechs Monestary, along with their wonderful food. Out of the tap with a rich head and a large dimpled mug, the aroma was wonderful. A wonderfully lively beer with a very complex finish and a smooth maltiness. Very quinching, and firm but not over-filling, as I was able to down about three liters in an afternoon. Possibly the best beer experience of my life. blankboy (3212), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours ruby-brown with a small off-white head. Aroma and flavour are mainly malt with notes of alcohol, smoke and a bit of sourness. I’m not a huge Bunkel fan (thanks tupalev!) but this is pretty good. tupalev (2617), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Dark ruby red, very thin white head. Some alcohol, some sweet malt, hint of smoke in aroma. Very solid malt taste, medium body, bubbly mouthfeel. Neat smoky sweet finish. Doesn’t knock your socks off, but this is a very solid bock/dunkel (we coined the phrase Bunkel, which fits here I think). 7.1%? Really? Sammy (4024), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Creaminess and really interesting range of flavours with multi-course meal. Thanks Mr. Madsberg from Denmark.
