Aug 10, 2005 Pours brownish red with a medium light tan that fades Aroma is of dough, dark caramel, some cinnamon, somewhat roasty, some chocolate, a slight alcoholic fume. Flavor is if coffee, bitter chocolate, dough, caramel. Bit of alcohol in the finish. Full bodied. Full yet smooth beer flavor and body wise.

Aug 3, 2005 Bottle. Okay - everybody seems to dig this. I just went against the grain on another Andechser beer and, although this is far better, I’m still way below the average rating. Am I just drunk? Oh well...: Pours a dark brown colour with an off-white head. Sweetish and malty aroma. Fruity notes as well as notes of alcohol. Flavour is equally sweetish and malty. Overall just an average beer, in my opinion.

Jul 24, 2005 500ml. bottle dated 3/21/05 brought back from Germany by a friend. Brown/red color with a small tan head. Mildly sweet malty aroma with some dried fruits and nuts. Bready, malty flavor that is much drier than the aroma would have you believe. In fact the finish is bone dry. This may sound weird, but the flavor reminds me a wee bit of the beers from Westvleteren. I get that same bready, yeasty flavor. Very enjoyable.

Jun 26, 2005 Dark reddish brown colour with a big long-lasting tan coloured foam. Deep malty aroma of figs, blue plums, dark chocolate and black currant. Malty big flavour of figs, nuts, dark chocolate and raisin. Well masked alcohol. Long chocolately finish.

Jun 23, 2005 brownish orange color, lots of nuts and raisons and other dark fruits in it. i think there is some chocolate too, this was another noogfest victim.

Jun 23, 2005 Bottle. lucky find. Found this in a German getrankmart after reviewing the top 50 on ratebeer.com. I am glad I did. This is a real stand out of the 50 or so beers offered at the store. Many German beers have a similar taste and character, but this doppelbock is solid. Aroma of almost chocolate, decent spicy wood and orange peel in the flavor. This is a beer to share with friends, to keep on stock, and to enjoy. One of the best so far I’ve tasted in Germany.

Jun 20, 2005 My notes say "w..he/ ite" WTF??? Well I can read the rest of it. A reddish brown appearance. The flavor is rather sour with a red and white grape presence. I also detect some chocolate and raisins. A bit of alcohol shows in the finish. Good bier!
