| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 10, 2008 Updated: Oct 21, 2008Aroma: very nice, spicy yeast, seville orange, cloves, cointreau, banana & dark malt. Pumpernickel and dried berries. Vaguely of toffee & glühwein.
Flavour: initially malty & hoppy. Not as sweet as expected. Pleasantly semidry... Mild but full-bodied with warm vanilla- & liquorice-notes. Very good for this gravity,
Appearance: cloudy - the dirty orange brown hue gives it an almost ancient feel. Topped by a beautifully creamy, longlived head (light beige cream coloured).
Palate: smooth, thick & creamy... Slightly slimy. Very rustic yet elegant.
