Amber color with a moderate cream colored head. Aromas are hop centric with pine and a bit of apricot. Full feel. Pale malts, and a earthy hops in the flavors. Bitterness continues to build throughout the experience. I gets a bit to much by the end and I start to beg for a reprieve. A bitter hopshead brew.

Poured from 22 oz., Amber with a golden hue, small off white head. Nice balance of hops and malt, citrus and pine, with hints of caramel. Not too bad, but it is the 20th anniversary and a year and a half later. Not sure if this got better with age.

Bomber from Once Upon a Vine, Richmond. Nice deep amber pour, fuzzy and somewhat cloudy. Decent head and sticky retention. There’s some grain and earthiness to the aroma, and a bready quality that suggests this might be better enjoyed when far younger. Still, take it when you can get it, right? Palate is decent, though not as full as I’d like. Crystal malts and sweet caramel, with a slightly too harsh finish owing to hops on the downside. At this point, I reckon it’s more like a moderately aged American strong ale. Decently enjoyable.

Pours a honey orange color with a nice white head... a very attractive beer. Aroma is honey and hops. The taste is malty and hoppy, the alcohol is not noticeable, there are hints of orange rind, caramel, and a sweet honey taste. Really good beer, well balanced between the hops and the malts.

(Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Amber colour with brief, white head. Fruity, malty nose with orange peel, toffee and a touch of pine needles. Fruity, malty taste with notes of orange peel, toffee, marzipan, caramel and pine needles resting on a solid malt foundation. Very nice and tasty beer in excellent balance.

22 oz. bottle pours gold-amber, light citrus, some smoke, aroma a little on the weak side. this is a good i p a , the hops are a bit overpowered by sweet malt. i was expecting more in this anniversary ale.

this was a big let down. very peachy and hoppy, high IBUs but still didn’t have that bitter aftertaste. very citrusy and fruity and not much else. malt base was non existent. serviceable, but expensive and not as good as their regular IPA so why bother?

This double IPA was kind of a disappointment. I was hoping for more of a bolder hop character from this one. It really lacked a big hoppy profile. I didn’t get that punch in the face that I like from my double IPA’s. The beer pours a clear copper color with a very minimal off-white head. The head doesn’t leave much lacing at all. The aroma is pretty decent, with a fruity, grassy and hoppy tone. The flavors is where this beer really lacks. Like I said, it didn’t have as much spicy and hoppy tones to it as I would have expected or liked. There is a definitive caramel and bready maltiness to the body, though. The finish is even a little on the sour side. This is unfortunately just an average Imperial IPA.
