Aroma of oats (probably the most oats I’ve ever gotten from an oatmeal stout, but not sure if that’s a comment about me or the beer), strong roasted notes, sweet chocolate, creamy coffee mild sweet caramel. Flavor has solid roast, lots of milky chocolate, more sweet oats and coffee. Medium-bodied, some watery notes. Still pretty good stuff. drfabulous (1254), Columbia, Missouri, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Poured an extremely dark and rather thick looking black. A thin tan head appeared and disappeared just as quickly.
The nose is sweet and malty. Hints of caramel and dark fruits. I found it soft and rich.
Very smooth mouthfeel with a body a touch lighter than I would have expected. Woody/smokey notes dominate with hints of chocolate. A fairly long smokey finish rounds out a rather excellent desert beer. Noelweichbrodt (12), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
