pour is a jet black with a thin, creamy beige head, excellent lacing.
smell is of cocoa, coffee, caramel, some toasted oats, vanilla, and malts.
taste is semi-watery, bitter sweet chocolate, some coffee, a touch of roasted nuts, slightly sour, oats, and some vanilla, end is somewhat dry and nicely bitter.

Feb 17, 2008 Tap @ Toronado. 1/4/08. Pours black with a light brown ring. Nose is big and roasty, and smoky. Taste is sweet and light and overall decent.

Feb 17, 2008 Bottle @ the wolf tasting. Pitch black with a brownish head which holds. Aroma of oatmeal, chocolate and a sweetness to it. Flavour of oatmeal and bitter chocolate.

Feb 8, 2008 Bottle: Dark brown pour with a nice light brown head. Always a fan of a good oatmeal stout and this one does not disappoint. Sweet aroma of chocolate and caramel and what else.. oatmeal. Light sweet taste goes down real smooth and leaves you with a feeling of wanting more. A great oatmeal stout.

Feb 6, 2008 I have had this beer before, mostly in bottles. this was on draft at Magoo’s in wexford, PA. dark Stout, with little head and not much lacing. Carbonation level was nice giving the beer its opening acidity, with hints of Grapes ,Pears,Spice,Nuts, and toast. The hops come through in mid taste and the beer finishes with lingering caramel and hops. Nice balance and not overly sweet. Overall extremely well balance and full palette

Feb 3, 2008 Word! After suffering through 4 other mediocre beers at Dad’s, finely a really enjoyable one! No idea why I haven’t had this yet! Beautiful pour, almost dark as night, very little light along edges. Fluffy head, lacing. What more could you ask? Oh yeah, lacing...it’s got that, too. Wonderful blend of chocolate, roast, sweetness and even a little bitterness to round it out. Smooth as silk mouthfeel, but not flat. Excellent! The best sweet stout for me to date!

Jan 30, 2008 This dark brown ale poured with almost no head. The flavor is not real intense, but is very balanced and tasty. It’s malty with chocolate notes and a long chalky finish.

Jan 28, 2008 Pours deep dark brown. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, caramel and roasted malts. Flavor gives you some bitterness, coffee, caramel, and roasted malts. A nice sweet/ bitter balance.
