One dimension of flavor with a heavy emphasis on the hops; bitter more than sweet. Didn’t have the thick creamy mouthfeel that most Oat or Sweet Stouts normally present.
Won’t repeat. ucusty (1915), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

A creamy rich body; with coffee, roasted malt, and an oats taste. Some light hops present also. I really like this brew, it’s smooth and easygoing, but has a lot to offer. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 18, 2007 Fully black with a mildly lasting tan skin. Aroma first of chlorine, then rich milk chocolate. Raspberry jam on grahams. Vanilla with some plum presence underneath. Distant roast and chocolate chip cookies. Clean, sweet taste of bland coffee - cream, sugar - with a touch of tannin. Sharp and smoky, with some astringency of pine resin and soap. A soft touch of grape seed extract, and something stingingly clean like fabric softener. Creamy and tired texture. Meekly bitter finish. Definitively uninteresting; decent. Aromas of toasted oats, fruits, smoke and chalk. Taste is smokey oats mixed with some roasted malts and cigar tobacco. Light flavors of dark fruits on the finish. Easy to drink.
