Jul 19, 2007 I am usually a huge fan of Oatmeal Stouts/Sweet Stouts, but this one was not my favorite. Aroma was sweet and roasty. Pours black with a brown head. I did not think it was anywhere near as complex as the previous dude, but whatever. It was very roasty, had a nice sweet malty character, as well as notes of vanilla and a nice mild black coffee bitterness. It finishes dry and sweet. Had a nice hefty mouthfeel, but although nice and pleasant, nothing stood out as spectacular.

Jul 6, 2007 This may be the best oatmeal stout I have had yet pours deep black,nice aroma of ripe pears and a superb flavor like dark chocolate and black cherries.I will buy this one again.This was worth every penny.Spread the news Anderson Valley Brewing Co. is making some of the best brews in World.Impressive!

Jul 3, 2007 12 oz bottle procured from Friar Tucks Peoria, IL. Pours black with a beige head. Roasted malts and sweet creamy oats in the aroma. Taste of roasted malts, creamy with lightly burnt flavors. Pretty sweeet stout.

Jun 30, 2007 Been looking forward to this one b/c the guy in MarCellars highly recommended it. Almost black color. Big tan head. Sweet chocolatey aroma. Big chocolate flavor. Very good creamy palate. Great sipping beer. Excellent beer all around. I brought back a bunch of beer from WY and ID but this is the one I most wish I could get regularily. Perfect in my mind. Only my 2nd 5 but this deserves it.

Jun 27, 2007 First brew purchased from these guys, took the bottle’s advice and had this for dessert. Pours a deep brown almost black with little to no head, brown carbonation ring instead. Aroma is light and not as strong as expected but it is sweet with hints of dark chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is a deep roasted flavor that finishes sweet like eating a semi-sweet chocolate chip. Mouth feel is a bit too thin in my opinion. Good dessert beer though.

Jun 26, 2007 Large dark brown head into black body. Good lacing. Chocolate, coffee, and burnt malts present in the aroma. Flavor is lightly sweet with a touch of bitterness. Okay oatmeal.
