Bottled. Good aroma of chocolate and licorice. Very dark body with a light brown head. Creamy mouth feel with a good deal of sweet malty flavor balanced with the right amount bitter hoppiness.

This was surprisingly very good. Don’t know what I was expecting but this tasted very similar to sam smith which i think is a great barometer. It poured well jet black with a dark carmel head. Taste of bitter chocolate and charcol, thats a good thing. Overall a good oatmeal stout

(bottle) Deep black with rapidly fading tan head. Roast malt aroma. Sweetish roast malt flavor. Good but not outstanding.

Pours a nice deep black but the head dissipates a little too quickly. Good flavor - some chocolate and roasted nuts are present - and the finish is about average for this category, nice and inoffensive.

Black body with a small tan head. Not much to say about this one. Basic roasted malts flavours and some chocolate. Rather thin body for the style. Nothing wrong with it but I find it to be a slightly below average by-the-number stout. To me, Barney’s oatmeal stout falls flat.

Courtesy of Decaturstevo at the Nashville Tasting. Pours black with a nice brown head. Faint aroma of dark roast with hints of vanilla. Initial flavor of purple grapes, that transitions to flavors of oats, nuts, and dark dry roasted malts. Perhaps a tad thin on the palate. Mild bitter finish

beer pours a deep black with light ruby tints. head is short-lived but leaves lots of tan lace. nose is smooth and chocolatey and rich. flavor is rich and roasty and very smooth - really well blended elements. good hop flavor in the aftertaste. a really good stout - very drinkable with a good level of roast.

Bottle. Potent chocolate nose with lots of roasted malt and some dry grit to go with the oaten vanilla. Darker pour than your avg sweet stout, near-opaque black-ruby with a lusciously creamy and rocky dark brown head. Body’s watery, but the dry roast taste remains strong. Salty taste, reminds somewhat of Dutch licorice, and some burned notes. Only a restrained tanginess in the otherwise dry and slightly gritty finish. I was expecting a little more sweetness, a little more oatiness, but am still pretty happy with the product.
