Commercial Description:
With its deep, dark brown-black color, thick, full-bodied, velvety-smooth mouth feel, mocha character, and, strong yet subtle hop bite, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout is one of the thickest, richest, and most complex stouts on the market today.

i hardly paid any attention to this beer. it was pitch black with a small, handsome head. not particularly carbonated. all i remember otherwise was that i liked it as compared against other oatmeal stouts.

(Bottled) Very dark brown color with a smallish, tight, beige head. Roasty, chocolatey-malty aroma with lots of licorice. Burned-roasty-malty, sweetish and licoricey flavor with an ashy finish. Medium-bodied, a bit foamy-carbonated palate. A decent, sweetish and ashy-roasty, licoricey stout.

Rather thick, but pleasant. Oatmeal really came through after the coffee and mocha notes, which was nice as some oatmeal stouts dont contain enough oatmeal taste. I had never heard of the company,so this beer came with a totally unbiased opinion. It suprised me.... I found it to be incredibly enjoyable!

draught. Pours pretty much stark black with some red on the top and not much of a head. Aroma is very mild with some faint mocha notes. Earthy coffee tones in the mouth. . The oats are there and add a nice balance. The mouthfeel is mildly syrupy and cacao flavors are apparent throughout.

Bomber from Bruisin’ Ales. Pours pretty dark brown, near black with a good head to boot. The aroma is very roasted and semi dry with distinct bitter notes and an almost sour feel to it. Lots of chocolate is delivered in the flavor with some oaty smoothness. The finish is remarkably nutty. I liked this beer pretty well.

12 oz bottle, via Bück Dich. Black pour with some mahogany edges and a small light brown head. Chocolate and black patant malts lead off with notes of molassas, oats, and coffee in the aroma. Flavor is equally balanced between the burnt malt and aggressive hoppiness. Finish is chocolate and espresso laced with caramel. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and creamy textured. Very fine light to moderate carbonation. A nice solid Sweet Stout, worth seeking out for sure.

Dammit! Lost my rating again. 12oz bottle, no date. Pours a dark, dark brown with a mod tan head, quickly dissipating. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, oats, brown sugar, and vanilla. Taste follows the aroma with a lingering soft bitterness. Full bodied. Very good beer.

Pours a solid black / dark brown with a frothy tan head. Aroma is mild, swwet with a touch of malts. Taste is much deeper. Great blend of coffee, chocolate, bittersweet, malts, and roastiness are present here. Nicely balanced from start to finish.
