Jay over at http://hedonistbeerjive.blogspot.com/ used to call this his favorite beer so I was curious, but too late I guess as it feel from a top spot to 26 to out of the top 55. Anyway, popped the top on a 12oz bottle and it started foaming away...??? Needless to say it poured a nice head that faded quickly. Strong malt presence, obliterates the hop and bitter. Great smell coming off this one, but other than a great malt and smell, it comes up short. Glad I bought it, but not sad I picked it up as a single instead of a 6 pack.

~Pours a amber color with nice lasting white head. ~Has a sweet berry scent with light hops. ~Semi sweet flavor. Berry flavor is present along with a biscuity dry caramel taste. ~A very dry feel to it. Quick finish. Don’t really care too much for the way it makes my mouth feel while drinking it. Kind of like drinking something that evaporates inside my mouth. Very weird. ~This is a pretty decent brew. Don’t normally care for amber ales, but once a ratebeerian pointed out the berry characteristics in it the beer got more interesting. The palate thing still bothers me a bit. I like my beers to be wet.

pours a nice copper color good hop sroma subtle but with a depth of fruit and citrus nice tan head with good lacing subtle malt sweetness and shortlived bitterness very well balanced great aroma smells terrific a little thin on flavor but a solid beer. I would reccomend this to everyone but especially to those who are developing a palate for craft brews.
