Deep used-penny copper, tan cap of foam that fades fairly quickly but leaves some nice lace behind. Dark toasted caramel araom, citrus, walnut, earthy coffee notes, carrot cake. Full carbonation, a little noisy in the mouth. Toasty dark buttery flavor. Robust candied citrus hop bite. As much as amber ales usually leave me a little cold, this one actually has a lot of interesting things going on. SuperDave70 (1158), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 12, 2008 Nice amber pour with a foamy head that quickly fades but leaves nice spotty lacing. Sweet caramel malt aroma with just a hint of spicy hops. Flavor is similar, with a touch of dried fruit. Medium bodied. A pretty good amber. Rciesla (3790), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

The aroma is quite sweet malts and some light hops. The taste is basically dominated by a sweet malty mix with some caramel and some hops. Pretty good. FlyingSwine (170), Littleton, Colorado, USA

Aroma is light, but with really nice caramel, fruit and brown sugar tones. Flavor is a bit weak, yet well balanced and slightly bitter. Palate is watery with a slight fizz, yet oddly creamy. Overall a good, drinkable amber ale. Would certainly try it again. Lothore (276), California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Apr 26, 2008 A- Reddish brown earthy color with a nice 2 finger head that faded quickly but left a bit of lacing.
S- Sweet smell, roasted malts, oats.
T- Taste is wheaty with a real grain flavor that follows through with roasted malts present. Doesn’t seem to have the best balance and has a sickening sweetness at the end I just did not dig.
M- Fairly viscous with a good amount of carbonation.
D- I didn’t dig this beers balance and that made it especially difficult for me to drink for a style that should be an easy session beer.

Tastes malty, toasty, with sweet raisin notes. Smooth mouthfeel. Complex flavor nicely balanced, with a bit a tea flavored aftertaste. Tea flavor more pronounced as it warms up. A real pleasure to drink. obguthr (1060), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 23, 2008 Soapy, caramel malt aroma. Hazy copper pour with a thin head. Pronounced tea flavor which morphs into grain, returning to tea and grass. Interesting transitions if not all that flavorful.
