Bottle pour -- maybe a bit old (thanks, Trader Joe’s!) This strikes me as more of a brown ale. Color is ruby and cedar, not much head. Very weak nose, difficult to detect after the initial pour -- the usual chocolate, malt, and yeast notes, some hops, acid and alcohol, kind of antiseptic. Not unpleasant, but not terribly distinctive or striking. Well-balanced in the mouth, not too much carbonation, plenty of body, and just a touch of oil that I enjoy. I taste some coffee beans, sweet pumpernickel bread, light hops, and a lot of alcohol. Sour milk aftertaste. Overall, not terrible, but I’d like to try it fresh to get a real perspective.

it is an alright amber...a good introduction to the style if gotten fresh....then it has alot of great hop flavors...but they get so much distribution...ie trader joe’s it tends to sit around for a while...and loses the hop magic......but not a bad beer...just not great!

Slight sweet tones at first then changing to a burnt flavor. It was much like Fat Tire but better. I would try it agian.

From a 22oz. bottle purchased locally. Aroma is a little carmelly sweet and some floral hops. Clear amber with a thin tan head. A little bready with a lemony hop flavor. Full bodied, and easy drinking. A nice amber.

Incredibly sweet. Pours dark amber with minimal head. malty aroma, little hops. Tried again the next day as a first beer of the day and must bump the rating somewhat. Better balanced than my first impression.

22 oz bottle. Pours amber, big head, lively carbonation. Aroma is sweet caramel malt. Bold malty flavors. Crisp finish with almost an undetectable metallic taste. Decent amber, but very forgetable.

Had a bottle at a local bar because I liked the moose on the label. It has a cloudy gold color. Light carmel aroma. ood taste and very smooth drinking.

This Amber gets fairly high praise from the critics on this site. And it surprises me. This is a decent ale. But it’s nothing to write home or to ratebeer about. I’d drink it again but I wouldnt’ talk about it again.
