Pours a cloudy dark copper with lots of bubbles and a short lived head. Nose has alcohol notes mixed with sweet honey. Creamy in the mouth. Alcohol taste stronger than the ABV would suggest. Watery, somewhat weak smooth malt flavor until finish which, in addition to mild hop bite (moderately bitter oranges) and resin stickiness, has unusual warm, salty character. Yeasty flavors present as well. Not a particularly pleasing beer, but a novelty, anyway. cellardoor (45), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 19, 2007 This is a wonderful, tasy but smooth ale. It is red amber with a small, dense, lasting off-white head. Aroma, sweet pine and malt, but not yeasty. The taste is smooth, with great hop-malt balance, with some sweet caramel and piney bitterness. It has a good body that holds up well and has lasting flavour while being exceedingly smooth and easy to drink. elelwarren (138), SF Bay area, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Nov 18, 2007 Updated: Dec 12, 2007Low head on this lightly fruity scented amber. Creamy going down, with butterscotch, and light vanilla being the overall flavors, with wonderfully balanced medium hops finish. Unlike any other California Amber I have tasted, in that the hops do not overwhelm or try to shock. Great session beer. LinusStick (1844), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

A nice medium amber with a full pillowy tan head. Aroma was so so. A little hoppy with caramel malt.Taste was good...not great. Caramel malt in the front and a weird dirty hops in the aftertaste. A little thin in the mouth but nice carbonation. Would be great in the summer. robertjm (406), El Cerrito, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 8, 2007 Poured little head. Amber color. Amber flavor, but not full-flavored. Rather thinnish in fact. Nice Amber scent. Good lawnmower beer, but that’s it. glennmastrange (857), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 4, 2007 Tap. Moderate malt notes of roasted and caramel, light herbs for the hops, and light dough for the yeast. Head is creamy white with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear light red. Flavor starts lightly acidic and finishes lighty sweet, acidic and bitter and a bit sour. Palate is light to medium, between dry and watery and has a lively carbonation. It also has a nice dry finish. A good example of it’s style and better than most others.
