| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 10, 2007 Pours a reddish amber with an offwhite head. The aroma is sweet, earthy, musty, dank. The flavor is earthy, sour, hoppy, caramel, balance for sure, but a nasty sour diacetyl taste. Not a fan of amber ales, i just dont like them. shalloWMeans (160), Independence, Kentucky, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 10, 2007 Mmm. Pours with a pretty tan, large and rocky head. The color is attractively amber with slight carbonation. Aroma is full of straightforward caramel and roasted malt, with a perfect hop-malt balance. Just what I like in a beer! The taste is just right; smooth, and medium bodied, and there is also an extra element to the taste (rye, pepper, caraway?) that sets this apart from other ambers. That and the beautiful balance make Boont Amber definitely worth trying and a beer that is easily drinkable yet complex and bittersweet at the same time. Great toffee finish.
