really good amber ale, everything that Anderson Valley does is good. This is their "house" beer and it is good. Like Rogue Amber a bit better but this one is great!

22 oz bottle. Clear peachy brown with a smooth tan head. Mild piney orange, caramel and cream. Nice body with soft buzzy carb. Some odd tastes going on. Ginger hops, scotch and roasted grapefruit. Light dryness, powdered sugar and lime.

Fogg and Suds. Pours amber with decent sized head. Aroma is citrus hops and caramel malts. Flavour is quite rich of caramel malts making this beer a tad sweet. Some nice herbal bitterness on the finish. Clean and fresh.

12oz bottle. Clear ruby garnet hue. White halo with a clear circle encasing a skin of head. Perfumy hop nose. Plummy and cookie aromas. Medium and smooth. Nice burn and tingling dryness. Caramel malt note. More spicy and peppery hops. Americanized hop driven Amber. But the best of the three Ambers I tried tonight. (AVBC, Great Divide Amber, Mendocino Red Tail) Tasted 9/26.

Bottle. This was a terrific amber. I was really pleasantly surprised as other beers I have tried from AVBC have been mediocre. Murky copper pour with a fluffy white head. A thin layer of foam stuck around on top throughout the whole glass - nice lacing. Malty and delicious, medium body - very smooth , very balanced. My full rec.

Bottle, Sept 2006. Aroma was crisp, with a strong malt element. Color was a reddish-brown, with almost a golden/orange look to it. A nice malt flavor with hints of hops. A light bitterness at the end, but nothing too strong. Not a big fan of this style, but this was nice.

Bottle. Clear amber-ruby color with a thick rocky light tan head. Aroma of caramel malt and fruity esters. Smooth palate with flavors of light caramel malt with a mellow backing of hops. Nicely balanced. Mostly dry finish, with a fleeting hop bitterness. Very drinkable.
