Little toasted, low on the hops...I could session this one pretty easily. Not bad at all. Finishes pretty darn clean. I agree with muzzlehatch, this one is a bit like an ESB. More details after I try it again. beachbum25 (802), Powellville, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 17, 2005 12 oz bottle-Pours dark ruby red/brown with a foamy amber head which hangs in there a while. Nice appearence. Moderate toasted aroma, nutty,woodsy taste up front followed by just enough bitterness to leave you wanting more. Tasty ale, definatly one you could sit down & enjoy a few. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2005 22 oz bottle. A hint of dull haze to the dark amber body, topped by an everlasting fluffy thick-bubbled just-about-white head...lightly toasty, caramel aroma, lightly woody and doughy, just a touch of citric hops...very sweet initially, fruity (blueberries, apples), with a drier woody tone creeping slowly in...lightly syrupy-thick body actually works for this one, as it dries out considerably at the end and light mineralic bitter hints show up. Quite a fine example of an unremarkable style, though this feels a little closer to an ESB to me. Megan (101), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 2, 2005 Had at Ashville BBQ Co. Cloudy red appearance. Decent head (although served in a plastic pint glass, yuk). Almost purple in color. Medium mouthfeel and fruity aroma and taste. Almost smells like lemon pledge. 1FastSTi (2580), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 20, 2005 Pours to a deep amber body with a 1 finger white/khaki head that disapates to a thin film. The brew has aromas of breads and floral hops. The flavor is really good for an amber. Light nutty floral breads. Sweet caramel. The palate is easy to drink. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 10, 2005 Aroma= Carmel, No roastiness, Citrus
Appearance= Amber, Strong tan head
Flavor= Mello and balanced, easy bitterness
moves slowly to malt side and eases of with subtle hops
Mouth feel= Medium low, it is fatter up front and finishes balanced and quick with only a touch of roastiness when closer to room temp
Overall= A pretty balanced beer and to style for American Amber, starts bigger and finishes light, makes me ask where did the beer go. No one characteristic stands out. = Average rating
