Reddish-amber with a small mocha head. Aroma of sweet malt and tea. Nice mouthfeel, a little creamy. Flavour starts roasty, has some tea in the middle, and finishes with some nice hop bitterness. Very nice stuff - as tupalev notes, most Canadian "amber" beers are crap, so this was a nice change from the norm. mikey (337), farmington, Utah, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 18, 2005 Poured a dark orange-red color with a thin off white head. The nose was strong with cherries and peach, complemented by a balance of rosted malt and piney hops. Very nice! The taste was very complex. Initially there’s a pronounced floral hoppiness but as your taste buds adjust, citrusy notes come to the front. Toasted malt and caramel notes become more apparent near the end. A great session beer, highly recommended. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Some surprising bitterness in taste, very quaffable flavourful amber, something us Canadians are not used to (the word amber usually scares me). Very nice and a good way to kick off the night. mephisto (1144), Taiwan

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 9, 2005 Mmmmm mmmm! Good beer, good beer! Unusual for an amber. Like an IPA with a lot of malt, or something. Slightly sweet, caramel. Slightly citrusy in the finish. Very interesting and very good. But like all AV products in Iowa--is it really worth 10 bucks a sixer?! gws57 (1144), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 7, 2005 Had this one on draught in Geneva, Illinois. Unusual hop character for an amber ale, somewhat more bitter than most. Deep, copper color, no head, carmel and orange in the nose. Very strange. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2005 12 oz bottle - Pours a dark amber with an amazing half inch offwhite puffy head that laces well. Aroma is mostly caramel malts but a slight hop scent can also be detected. Flavor is strong caramel malts upfront with a slightly bitter hop finish. Like a little more malty IPA. Pretty delicious. On the palate this is medium bodied and hearty for an amber ale. I really liked this beer and I’m looking forward to trying more from this brewer. Pailhead (2605), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 22, 2005 Bottle: Aroma of caramel and some light flowery hops is not all that strong. Pours a dark transparent amber with a small white head that diminishes rather quickly. Watery caramel malt up front with a decent citrus and flowery hop finish. EPA-like with some citrusy notes in the finish.
