| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 14, 2005 Updated: Jan 15, 2005(12 oz bottle: Cost Plus in La Jolla, CA) Though malty and flavorful, my overall impression of the beer is modestly above average for the style. It’s extremely fruity for an amber ale, fairly sweet and caramely, but only lightly bitter. The nose seems to match the flavor, very fruity, sweet, caramely, and malty. The flavor and nose remind me of a malty English ale. Medium in body, but with a nice, coating mouthfeel. Coppery amber in color and very hazy in appearance. Off-white head pours about an inch in height, gradually receding to a thin layer, and leaving plenty of broken rings of lace on the glass. I’d enjoy having this in the fridge for those days when I just want to have an easy drinking, but quality beer. Cornfield (4938), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 4, 2005 This poured a slightly hazy amber with a respectable off-white head. Has a pleasant malty aroma, slightly sweet, toffee like. Medium-bodied, it’s got a refreshing malty & fruity taste. This is a decent session beer. Frank (1066), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 12, 2004 Awesome! This is one of the finest Amber Ale’s I’ve ever had. Anderson Valley produces truly excellent brews and this has got to be one of the finest. Beautiful pour, creamy, rich, thick frothy head. Gorgeous, cloudy brown-toffee color. Nicely balanced bitter taste, citrusy aroma. Hmmmm...As they say, the number 1 legal export from Boonville ;)
