| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 7, 2004 Deep amber, clear, very effervescent. Big off-white head displays tight lacing and lasts long. Shy nose of caramel reminiscent malt. Limited flavor range of caramelic malt and dominating various nuts. Mild acidity, the slightest leafy/almond skin bitterness. Light to medium body, highly carbonated and tongue-biting. Unexciting to say the least. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of malt, hops, citrus, corn flakes, cabernet. Tastes malty, with some hops, caramel, iced tea in the finish. Slightly dry finish. BelgianGirl (89), West Chester, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 28, 2004 Nice hoppy/malt combo in the beer, same with the flavor. Hops not over powering. Dark amber in color with a creamy white head. Easy drinking. CamdenD (615), Madrid, Spain
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 21, 2004 Very nice session beer. Highly drinkable and good kick. Has a nice malt backbone for a west coast beer and survives without bombing you with hops. Amber beers often lack character -- this beer does not. HopsOrDie (687), New Lenox, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jun 25, 2004 Cloudy light brown with a big off white head. Smells caramelly and nutty. Very nutty flavor, almost overpowering, that tilts towards sweetness. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 22, 2004 Deep copper body and soft cottony white head. Caramel and spice aroma. Almost has a pumpkin pie quality. This is a very decent amber. gnylen (12), Topanga, California, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 6, 2004 Updated: Jun 17, 2004Sad to see so many reviews by people who wish this beer was more hoppy. THIS IS AN AMBER ALE. If you want hops, drink one of the hyper-over hopped IPAs cranked out by the West Coast micros in lock-step as if that were the only way to make beer. What I LOVE about this amber is that it is NOT over-hopped. The balance is perfect for the style. Nice rocky tan head. Citrusy malt aromas. Perfect session beer palate -- smooth and eminently quaffable. Flavor is filled with layers of crystal malt topped with just the right amount of citrusy Cascade hops. Perhaps my favorite "everyday" beer. Drinkable any season of the year. sloth (1678), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 5, 2004 Small tan head short lived. Hazy amber color. Hints of fruit and melons in the nose but the metallic aroma seems to dominate. Med/light body, sorta thin. Lightly astringent malt flavors, real dry, fruity. Finish is dry. One of Anderson Valleys lesser attempts IMHO.
