Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a medium sized off white head leaving significant lacing. The aroma is earthy with floral and herbal notes. Flavor is moderately sweet with caramel malts and citrus predominating. I didn’t get as much citrus in the nose. Medium bodied. Decent. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 1, 2008 Bottle purchased at Corral Liquors, in Granite City, IL. Pours a hazy amber with lots of fine suspended particles and a dense, rocky, off-white head that leaves behind sheets of lace upon the glass. The nose is a pleasant and muted blend of bready malt with floral and citric hops. On the light side of medium-bodied, the mouthfeel is silky-slick with a solid bitter-hopped finish. Like a marriage of an ESB and a solidly hopped APA (or mild IPA), the flavor is of sweet, toasted caramel malt with a solid backing of bitter floral and citric hops. This is a hop-head’s kind of ESB. bb (2919), Martinez, California, USA

Caramel, light woodsy, grassy, citrus flavors. Medium-light body. Well balanced. Lingering citrus, woodsy hops, and caramel. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2008 Think of this as a West Coast ESB. Big citrus hops domonate. Not my idea of an ESB. Not a bad brew per se, just not what I expect from an ESB. Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 24, 2008 Bottle courtesy of douglas88. Pours copper with a creamy white head. Smells of flowers, perfume, some earthiness. Tastes moderately bitter with some dry malt and citrus. Decent fruity finish. Aquilo (267), California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 20, 2008 Full marks for appearance! It’s a beautiful cloudy golden honey color with a perfect fluffy white head. Aroma is earthy, but just fruity and hoppy enough to make me think that I am drinking an IPA. Fruit smells are dried apples and prunes, with a bit of orange. After another whiff, I have decided that the hops are not as forward as I had originally thought. The hops are the dominant flavor, however. It has a very nice fresh hop flavor with lots of orange flavor as well. Feels nice, looks nice, smells nice, and tastes nice. I think this is a very underrated IPA. I mean, ESB. (oops!) matt7215 (972), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada
