Pale golden pour with a large beige head, fizzles out relatively quickly. Light dry fruit and hop oiliness in the medium body, some sweet and tangy in a close approximation of one of the tangier British takes. Not so bitter, though. I like the peppery, slightly spicy taste, but this isn’t terribly complex or (to me) interesting. Do like the hop essence and resin, though, one of the better-hopped examples of this style. hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 31, 2006 12 oz bottle. Pours a nice hazy orange. small off white head. Aroma is caramel, bread, cookie dough, and citrus pushed a bit to the back. Taste is sweet caramel, bread, and some citrus, light bitter finish. maybe an older bottle or an English style ESB. very drinkable. chimpscampee (566), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 26, 2006 Too much malt and not enough hops and didn’t care for nose, mouth feel, finish/aftertaste. A medicinal edge to it. jason (1624), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Good aroma and copper apperance with a good size head that stays. Good flavo rthat is well balanced. Taste more like a india pale ale than an ESB(6.8%). Great brew. cbrixius (136), Newberrytown, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 6, 2006 This beer has more of a dry hoppiness than most pale ales and some IPA’s I’ve tried. A really good brew to sit down and down a few. Anderson Valley seems pretty hitand miss with their selections and showings. This beer shows up! spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 1, 2006 Now this is beer! The hops give way to a sweetness of caramel taste every now and then...but not for long. The description says it all. A cloudy orange pour with a white head that stayed around for a while. The bitterness was there in full force and good luck eating something afterwards. Your taste buds will need healing!
