| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 16, 2006 Fruity/flowery and somewhat skunky aroma that lets you know the hops are coming. Hits the glass medium golden with a well retained head. Starts bitter and then balances with a sweet at the end followed by intense hop bitter aftertaste. Smooth, crisp, refreshing -- all of those adjectives the big names claim yet fail to provide. An great beer. Anderson Valley is now 4 for 4 with me. thegreenrooster (1835), St.louis, Missouri, USA

Aroma is a stong hop with a touch of malts in there, I also detect some sour apple. Flavor is fruit and citrus with some earthy moss in there. A very tasty and satisfying brew. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 17, 2005 Bottle (12oz). Poured clear amber-gold with a decent off-white head and nice lacing. Nice balanced aroma of citrus hops and slightly roasted malt, and yeast. Taste is very resiny hoppy, the malt’s there, but this have an almost oily, sharp bitterness that builds, with an oddpine aftertaste. Very bitter and astringent mouthfeel. I like it, but it’s not like any ESB I’ve ever had. hayduke (1654), Eureka, California, USA

Malts and lots of hops with good balance. Hint of citrus. Nice bitter taste and good finish. Yum. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 11, 2005 Nice clear copper with an off white head that lasted a few minutes. An intital maly sweetness quickly followed by floral hop flavors and bitterness that lasts well into the finish. Needs a little more malt character and feel in my opinion, but a very nice ale indeed.
