And the nose lead me on further, with orange and pine with caramel. And on the palate there is a creamy version of the same flavours, with the malt a bit bready. I like the balance of the malt and hops, I think it is a bit hard done by, Frovigalning (449), , Sweden

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 30, 2009 12 oz bottle Market of Choice. Poured a cloudy orange with a one inch white head. Aroma was caramel and biscuit malt mixed well with some floral hop aroma. The flavor was initially caramel malt, but then it exploded into floral and citrus hop flavors that were far more pronounced than in most ESBs. A solid brew all around. Malty, caramel, spicy hops, light citrus, not a lot of aroma hops, but a very bitter finish. Too much alcohol for the style. manuchampions (109), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Confusion...the description on Ratebeer says it used to be called "Belk’s ESB"...well the bottle I just sampled is Belk’s and it’s from a new shipment of bottles.
Anyway...22oz bomber. Pours a slightly opaque golden colour with foamy head. Aroma is a wonderful balance of west coast hops and malt. Flavour is buscuity malt chased away quickly by an almost IPA level of hopiness that is both tart and has a hint of sweetness in the finish. Complex, very pleasing and frighteningly easy to drink. Aroma: Malty with high alcohol flavors.
Taste: Bitter malts and hops
Overall: A nice clean beer. bsjay (54), Oregon, USA
