22oz bottle-pours a thin retaining light tan head and mahogany color. Aroma is dark malt-sweet, spices, dark fruit. Taste is rich dark malt-sweet/some chocolate, grainy, husky, spices, dark fruit-cherry/prunes/raisins-vinuous, alcohol, faint hops. No Belgian yeast, but a nice American Dubbel. Mild/minimum carbonation. Thanks to Stevo for sharing.

Nov. 2006 - An okay offering. Unlike others, it didn’t strike me as overly dark...more golden than brown. Fruity aroma and nice, but quickly dissipating head. Some beers grow on me as I sip through it. This one went the other way. Very peppery, some other spices and fruit with a touch of honey. Just a bit too sweet for my liking, but not bad.

22 oz Bomber-pours a clear brown color w/a slight head & good lacing. Candied sugar aroma. Flavors of dark fruit, cane sugar, raisens, toffee, & a touch of spice. Alcohol was very well hidden, I had no Idea it was this high until I went to rate it. I thought this beer contained everything you look for in a classic Belgian beer. Very smooth & easy to drink.

hazy brow w/ orange tint. small white to beige head. fizzy. smells like brown sugar and oatmeal. bready, toffee and licorice. seems simple at first - but there is more going on here - it’s just not very inviting. comes off astringent.

Bomber poured a clear brown with red highlights and a small lasting tan head. Aromas of brown sugar, dark fruit, carmel and a hint of chocolate. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, raisinb, dark candi sugar, chocolate and a hint of spice with a smooth lightly sweet malty finish.

btl. A dark brown pour with a light brown head and lace. A brown sugar/molasses with rich sweet malt, raisins or dates. A very caramelly beer with a good bitter. Dried fruit in the flavor as well. Good carbonation for the style. Drinks like it smells. abv covered up pretty good to me.

Bomber. Mahogany color with a frothy beige head. Dark sweet malty aromas of brown sugar and some toffee with dried fruits--raisin, fig, black cherry. Sweet raisiny malt flavor cut by a mild black pepper and clovey spiciness. Dry earthy finish. Relatively thin body with fine carbonation. Not a bad take on the style I suppose, though I’m yearning for more fullness in the mouthfeel.

Bought a few bottles for Christmas gifts and kept one for myself. I had problems getting the wax coated cap off the bomber but was greeted with a tangy, medium bodied Abbey Dubbel with a pleasant candy sugar and yeasty finish. Learning the beer had a SFO Toronado tie-in brought a smile to my face.
