This is a fairly tasty beer that doesn’t score very high on any single aspect, but overall is a nice, warming sipper. Aroma is very mild with accents of port and brown sugar. Pours with very little head, which dissapears quickly. Color is a deep and clear coffee brown. The flavor is sweet with a little chocolate and warming alcohol. The carbonation was a little harsh. Lacks complexity and aroma, but otherwise pretty good.

Bottled. Pours a dark brown/ruby color. Yeasty bubblegum aroma. Roasted with some dark fruit as well. Flavor is dark fruitiness right up front. Some bubblegum flavor and spiciness. Finish has a hint of alcohol, but it is hidden fairly well. Enjoyable brew.

Murky brown with a thin layer of fizz in lieu of a head. The nose is dark fruit, spice and alcohol. Flavor is thick fruit(raisins and prunes), brown sugar, molasses and caramel. The alcohol bitterness really seems to dominate this one throughout. Plus I’m taking off points for the fake rubber wax that I had to carve my way through to get the bottle open!

Aroma is all dark fruits, with some astringent alcohol notes. Flavor is rich caramel, liquified and used to spread over fresh dark wheat bread. A little sweeter than I would have liked, and what I mean by that is dark fruit sweetness and dark brown belgian candy sugar, just kind of unbalanced in that respect, but other than that, it is quite enjoyable.

Dark brown pour with no head. Aroma of prunes, yeast, and raisins. The taste is really strong and the alcohol is not masked at all. Prunes and malt dominate the beer. The heavy mouthfeel makes it even less drinkable. The spice was nice, but everything else is a bit overwhelming. And lose the fake wax, it makes the bottle really hard to open.

A nice enough beer, a little more than the sum of its parts. The cool rubber, pretending to be melted wax, covering the cap should count for something. Good fruity nose. Dark reddish brown with a miniscule off-white head. Sweet toffee, dried raisins, sweet spice, alcohol warmth, with a little bit of a Belgian Brown sour in the taste. Not much hop or bitterness in the taste. Mouth was more of a Belgian brown than a double as well, not very full bodied, and almost no feel of carbonation.

what a cool looking bottle.Melted black wax dripping down the side.OK enough about the bottle.Pours a nice brown color with a small tannish head.has the flavors of a typical Belgian, the dark fruits.finish was slightly sweet.

Quite special 22 oz bottle. Chestnut brown wth a modest off-white head. Rich caramel and liquorice aroma with notes of raisins. Sweet caramel flavours with raisins, molasses, but also well-balanced. Bread and roasted flavours in the background. Full-bodied and smooth, low on carbonation. An exciting and complex dubbel!
