Pours a medium dark hazy brown color with a small amount of fizzy whitish head. Aroma is very much of raisins, figs, alcohol, and molases. Mouthfeel is heavy. Flavor is sweet doughy raisin taste with a strong warming alcohol finish. Overall, i found it to be a good winter warmer.

Pours a clear red-brown out of the bottle with a small and short-lived tan head. Some lacing but not much. Smells like an alcoholic Dr. Pepper - alc, sugar, cola, and dried fruit - and tastes entirely too sweet for my expectations of a balanced double. Yet, after those complaints, I did find it oddly drinkable and it grew on me over time, but that might have been due to the 9.0 ABV kicking in. If you put aside expectations, and you like things on the sweet side, you might like it.

GREAT belgian double. I normally am not a fan of belgians - just don’t like the sweet. Loved this beer though. Goes down smooth, tastes great and has great palate and aroma to match. Balance the belgian yeast esters with malt perfectly so that it is not overly sweet.

22oz. bottle. Failry murky red brown, small tan head. Raisins, caramel, alefruit, and alcohol in the aroma. Huge fruity ester component, heavy raisins and candy sweetness. Spicy finish with high alcohol heat. Mouthfeel is heavy, thick, and hot.

This beer was good but I drank it with an Arrogant Bastard. So I had a mouthful of hops. What I liked about this beer was the subtle hint of caramel that balanced the beer nicely. Smooth finish!

Bottle: Dark brown pour with a decent off white head. Dark fruits on both aroma and flavor, some spicyness. Mildly bitter. Not great, but not awful. I’m glad I didn’t buy the bottle though.

In the bomber bottle from Roof Bros. This was a pain in the ass to open. Why did they put a condom on the bottle? Once I broke the seal, it poured a dark brown color with an off white head that has little staying power. Has the strong aroma of a concentrated bucket of lyophylized raisinettes. Thick. Very thick. The flavor is a little too candy sweet for me. I usually like ’em if they have a sturdy amount of ethanol, but this didn’t ring my bell.
