This is an excellent brew.I like everything about it except the price. It has an incredible palate, leaves your mouth watering and wanting more.Very nice aroma like a ripe apple, tastes like sweet plum with hints of dates.I would buy this for a special occasion.A very rich tasting brew.

Not much to look at, but this beer is one of the best Ive tried. Very unique flavor that I keep coming back for. Slightly sweet, hints of spice and banana, pleasant yeast flavor. Very little bite. The ETOH is a lot of fun! Love this beer!

A little hops in the aroma. Taste starts out a bit thin but then improves mightily. Pretty sugary finish. A good beer and a nice rep of the style.

Aroma is bold and stong with a huge malty nose with caramel and spice. Appears a beautiful dark brown with red tint, but didn’t have much of a head to gaze upon. Flavor is sweet and spicy and unbelievably tasty with perfected malting that just blew me away. This is like the American strong ale i never had, except this Anderson Valley is an abbey dubbel. A lot of spice dominate with a nutmeg and cinnamon flavor beind vanilla extract. Smooth all around and a beer i wouldn’t want to change a thing about even though i felt it wasnt perfect.

GREAT belgian double. I normally am not a fan of belgians - just don’t like the sweet. Loved this beer though. Goes down smooth, tastes great and has great palate and aroma to match. Balance the belgian yeast esters with malt perfectly so that it is not overly sweet.

Pours with a one-finger light tan head, fades slowly, but leaves little lace. Deep clear amber color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is raisiny/malty. Starts sweet with caramelized malts, finish is smooth with hints of hops in background. Actually competes with a good Belgian double. $6.15 for a 22oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

A sensational abbey double. Unbelievably smooth and drinkable for such a flavor-packed, strong ABV beer.

A great abbey dubble by Anderson Valley. Aroma is full of strong malts and mild hops. Appearance is light brown with a little cloudiness. Mouthfeel is super smooth. Flavor is packed full of strong malts. Introduced this beer to some friends and they drank it up quick
