Bubblegum esters, chocolate, brown sugar, honey and dark pit fruits in the overly alcoholic aroma. Clear mahogany brown body is topped by a low, off white, fine bubbled head that lasts well. Sweet, round chocolatey flavour with berry like fruits and some earthy, herbal character is mostly pleasant but marred by a persistent tartness and strong alcohol. Body feels a bit astringent with fairly low carbonation that doesn’t really offer much to the mouth. Bottle sampled with beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, Olivier MTL, Rastacouere and Yowie.

Oct 28, 2008 Dark brown pour with nice frothy brown head. Sweet malty nose. Flavor is rich with matl, a lot of brown sugar and a touch of fruit. Body is medium with good amount of alcohol that warms the soul.

Oct 27, 2008 Rust red appearance with a small tan head and nice lacing. Malty, yeasty aroma full of ripe fruit, caramel and some spice. Earthy, sweetish taste, vinous, fruity and malty, with a hint of butterscotch intruding. Medium-to-full bodied and little carbonation. Long lasting finish with an unobtrusive alcohol presence.

Oct 10, 2008 Deep brown pour with a rocky tan head. Big roasted aroma with some cocoa and some walnut. Medium body with a good deal of sweetness. Some fig and raisin flavor.

It has a good caramel and chocolate aroma, strong body, medium sweetness, chocolate flavor, caramel of course, correct bitterness, alcohol warmth at the end. Maybe a bit too strong, correctly brewed, but without emotions, monodimensional and boring after a few sips.
