Commercial Description:
The brewers of Anderson Valley had to conjure the High Priestess of Fermentation to help them formulate and create this rare hand-crafted elixer. It is luxuriant, smooth, more that a little wild, and at 10% alcohol, it's bound to raise your spirits. Open the Bottle and greet the High Priestess. You are worthy.

Bomber, poured in tulip glasses. A dark clear honey color with no real head. Aroma is very light. Nice sweet flavor, apples and pears, with a straightforward yeasty finish. Overall sweet flavor, quite drinkable but a bit one-dimensional for the style. The wife gives a higher rating on this one than I do--the score here is balanced out between us.

22oz bottle. Poured golden-amber with nearly no head and much more clarity than I expect in a triple. Nose and taste of apples and light spices, an initial hint of sourness. No high marks for complexity, but not a bad beer for the dosh.

A reddish-gold strong ale with little body to hide its 10%. It poured without much head but the aroma was appealing, smoky fruit with soft yeast. The taste showed a thin front of fruit and spice that faded into a rich flavor of smoked fish. The fruit flavors soon collapse to alcohol but it’s quite drinkable with food. I would only get this again if I craved a lox flavored beer.

Bottle during Game 2 of the World Series: Poured a dark orange with not much head. The aroma was dark fruit and malt. The flavor was the same with a strong alcohol aftertaste. Overall, a tasty beer but a poor Tripel. Kind of like the game last night...a good game with a poor outcome.

Clear dark orange/gold with a one-finger het fruity aromas dominate the noseweead that disappeared immediately and left no lacing. Sweet fruity aromas dominate the nose; a bit of spiciness keeps it interesting, but there’s nothing overpowering. Candied fruit flavors are strong up front, with pears and apples the most obvious. Lively carbonation, a very subtle hops finish to keep it honest, and a medium to full body. Pleasant enough, but there are better tripels.

Pours clear yellowish but a bit darker, good doughey head. Taste is totally off, this does not strike me as a true tripel. Lots of vinous flavor here that reminds me more of a quadrupel despite the coloring. Some dark fruits, this beer is a contradiction. I’m also feeling some hoppy bitterness on the palate. This beer is more of a clusterfuck, pardon my language, than anything. It’s not all bad but not what I expected when I was looking for a good tripel. Taste at your own risk.

Bottle from the Utah State Store. Pours a deep amber color with a medium white head. The aroma is very sweet; loads of caramel and candies. The taste was simple but nice; lots of sweet flavors, some light hops, a bit of sweet fruit, and overall an simple, but enjoyable brew. A bit of warmth, but not overpowering.

Bottle from Lee’s Discount Liquor, Las Vegas
Clean amber color with a fine perlage. Not much aroma. It has a strong body, sweet flavor, too strong alcohol kick. Sweet booze, not a Triple anyway, more like a variation of Malt Liquor, completely missing any Belgian quality factor, any interest; and the big bottle suddenly appears as an ambitious task…
