Commercial Description:
The brewers of Anderson Valley had to conjure the High Priestess of Fermentation to help them formulate and create this rare hand-crafted elixer. It is luxuriant, smooth, more that a little wild, and at 10% alcohol, it's bound to raise your spirits. Open the Bottle and greet the High Priestess. You are worthy.

22oz bottle from BevMo! A good Triple, I was expecting more. Color was a glowing orange amber with a medium sized off white head. Lots of citrus fruits, bread and banana on the nose. Flavor was yeasty and had a citrus fruit "twang" to it.

22 oz bottle split a few ways. Lightly hazy golden, with orange hues and a medium off white head. Aroma is light banana/bubblegum, and pear, and pretty phenolic with hints of candi sugar and apples. Taste is moderately sweet with honey, light bubblegum, apple, candi sugar with some moderately sharp phenols. Although it is not too sweet, this starts to fatigue the palate pretty quickly- some alcohol present, and just not as deceptively strong and easy drinking as some of the better examples of the style. Still a pretty solid beer though.

Gingerbread colored, aromas of candied fruits and yeastiness. Very sweet, flavors of plums and raisins. Alcohol is very subtle and can sneak up on you. Not much hop bitterness to take away from the sugary-sweetness. Smooth all the way through. This is a style that is growing on me.

Barely there head which very quickly dissapated completely. Clear apple cider (tired of saying golden and not creative enough) with moderate amounts of sediments floating aroung. Minimal lacing present. Moderate yeast, light banana, light pepperyness, and a bit of breadyness all present in the aroma. Flavor is moderately sweet but subsides into a light bitter. Watery to dry texture. Carbonation is almost flat. I am not a fan of this beer overall due to the hmm...cheapness to it, but the alcohol is well hiddden.

A good solid beer that is inspired by abbey ales more than it is terribly typical of the Abbey styles. Nice Amber hue, minimal head, little carbonation. Pleasant mouth feel that well covers the alcohol.

Nov. 2006 - Another solid offering from AV. Pour was dark brown, nice two fingered head and decent lacing. Aroma and flavor was dark fruit, caramel and raisins. Nice smooth mouthfeel...a wonderful beer for my Thanksgiving dinner!

Tap: Copper color with a small head. Spicy aromas of yeast, alcohol and a little pumpkin. The flavor is pretty strong, definitely better with food. Sweet. You can definitely feel the higher alcohol %. Not bad, not my favorite style.

Sampled blind at "Better Know a Style: Abbey Tripel" tasting. Clear darker amber with small off-white head. Aroma is aged alc with slight dough. Flavor is very doughy with alc, malty, caramel, bourbon, green/red apple. Medium to full body and creamy. I enjoyed this beer but more because it was out of style than anything else.
