Commercial Description:
The brewers of Anderson Valley had to conjure the High Priestess of Fermentation to help them formulate and create this rare hand-crafted elixer. It is luxuriant, smooth, more that a little wild, and at 10% alcohol, it's bound to raise your spirits. Open the Bottle and greet the High Priestess. You are worthy.

Bottle purchased at Lee’s Liquor in Las Vegas. Copper pour with a thin white head. Aromas of apple, fig, pear, and spices. Taste is a bit medicinal. I can drink this but this falls way short of a good example for the style. Slightly cloying.

Pours a dark chestnut brown color with a thick frothy tan head with decent retention, slowly fading into a lasting ring. Minimal spots of lacing. Slightly malty aroma with some subtle citrus peel notes, light fruit and licorice. Pretty bland really with nothing really standing out. Roasted malt flavor with a spicy profile and sweet chocoalte character. Dark fruit notes, mostly plum, raisin and fig with subtle hazelnut and earthy hops. Nice alcohol warmth in the dry finish.

The beer pours out a golden orange body with a rocky, 2" white uneven head. Aroma is apple juice, caramel, brown sugar, and a bit bready. The rest of the beer is pretty average. Flavor is sweet, lots of caramel, banana, alcohol, some bubblegum and light apricots. My tongue felt like it had been thru the ringer a few times after finishing my pint.

Pours a too clear, gold to light orange color, with a small fizzy white head that dies down fairly quick. Aroma of yams, marzipan, brown sugar, orange, and citronella candles. Eh? Tastes sweet with brown sugar, yams, marzipan, maple, with a little bit of spice from the yeast and buttered toast from hops (I imagine). Finishes with more yam flavor followed by toast, earth, and slight sugar aftertaste. Nearly full bodied, but the alcohol presence, prickly carbonation, and shallow mouthfeel make it seem thinner. There’s decent qualities here, but it’s not what I want from a tripel.

Er, the finish is getting to me the more I drink. You know that tangy aftertaste after you spit out an old piece of gum (like Juicy Fruit) or just finished a mint? This beer finishes like that with an almost salty sensation and just begs for a glass of water to wash it down. Not a fan.

(bottle - 22 oz) Hazy orange pour with a very thin and fizzy off-white head. Aroma is mild with some hints of brown sugar and caramel along with some very subtle fruit and spice notes. Very sweet at the beginning with a lot of fruits that give way to a caramel and bubblegum middle. Finishes dry and lightly tart with some citrus and yeast notes. Very dry and fizzy.

Thank you to Jing and Tina, pours mellow iced tea amber with thin white bubbles. Smells of brown sugar and some mellow fruityness and light pastry crust tones. Sweet flavor, more brown sugar and not so spiced for a triple, alcohol as it warms, and light peppery numbness. Full bodied and mellow carbonation, it delicious but not a typical abbey flavor.

Bottle. Quite surprised that I haven’t had this yet. Pours with a mostly clear golden body with a rocky white head. Aroma of pear, honey, spice, alcohol, banana esters/bananas foster, bread and slight metal. Taste is alcohol, candi sugar, metal, caramel, honey, spice, vinous, and a bit of wet dog. Rich, nearly rummy alcohol flavor. Hot, slightly thin mouthfeel, moderate carbonation.
