Aug 1, 2007 dark copper with small tan head. light yeasty aroma with some fruit and spice notes. fairly thick smooth body. very sweet with bread, raisins, light bananas, some cloves and cardamom. i think its a little off balanced, the sweet is very overpowering, and i’ve come to expect tripels to be a little dry

Jul 16, 2007 The Dan Journal #93. Tasted 7/7/2007. 22oz bomber. Mildly hazy with a golden hue evolving up to a caramel hue. Slight ring of bone white head. Sugary sweet and citrusy. Smooth and sticky. Bready citrus with caramel and banana yeasty notes. Touch of cloves. Nice finish.

Jul 14, 2007 Quite inferior to AV’s double. This has the fruit peel acidicy that hampers too many in the Beligan style. The yeast and malt overwhelm. Peppery. Apple. More bland than big flavor.

Jul 13, 2007 A bottle well-protected against oxidation by a vinyl (not wax) seal must count for something... a gentle pour uncovers tiny & constant sparkling effervescence throughout a honey-hazed amber body under a creamy, cream-colored head. Aroma finds smoky yeasts, like a nice Gouda with a plantain undertow and hints of maple. Alcohol concentration makes me say, "woooh"... flavors as rich as a Barleywine. Fruits and yeasts. I stop taking notes at this time by writing, "Forget Notes. Just Drink. This is Tops." There you go.
