Commercial Description:
The brewers of Anderson Valley had to conjure the High Priestess of Fermentation to help them formulate and create this rare hand-crafted elixer. It is luxuriant, smooth, more that a little wild, and at 10% alcohol, it's bound to raise your spirits. Open the Bottle and greet the High Priestess. You are worthy.

Pours a murky deep golden color with a medium sized foamy/creamy white head. Nose is banana caramel, spices, alcohol, and honey. Taste is slightly vinous, and like a dessert wine combining elements of the nose. Mouthfeel is syrupy and somewhat lively. I was actually impressed.

Bottle.
Pours a semi-thick, lively amber with a small head that seems bored to be at this taste party. Aroma is weak doughy peach preserves with hints of biscuit. The flavor is much more pleasing and full than the nose; notes of bready plumb, peach malt, raisin, and sweet bread are in abundance. Nice mouthfeel that leaves the tongue slick and satisfied. Not a bad offering, and I love the knock on Arrogant Bastard.

Pours with a light white head. Color is an amberish-orange. The alcohol is there, for sure. Malty, and yeasty, with a few notes of citrus. Overall, a thumbs up, but not overwelmingly so.

Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of cookie and cereal, light perfume and some over-ripe citrus for the hops, a moldy note for the yeast, with date, pear, wine and butterscotch in the background. Head is small, frothy, slightly off-white, with virtually no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is clear light orange. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, and finishes the same. Palate is medium, oily, with a carbonation between soft and lively. It finishes lightly alcoholic. Quite fruity, but a little sweeter than a Tripel should be, and the carbonation should be a bit brighter. It’s still a tasty beer even though it’s more like a Belgian Strong crossed with an English Strong Ale.

Both my wife and I were fairly put off by the aroma of this beer. It smelled something like rotting citrus. Other than that, the beer was quite pleasant to drink and tasted quite fruity and sweet.

sample glass from the brewery. a touch lighter than the double’s light brown giving it a clear amber view through the glass. the 10% abv is obvious through the malty sweet flavors with hints a fruit.

Tallahassee, Fl. - Market Square Liquors - 22 oz bomber. Medium copper colored pour with a thin trailing white head. Aroma has a sweet bent to it with some bubble gum notes, hints of amaretto. Flavor is sweet as well with some caramel, figs, bubble gum, muted citrus and a hint of amaretto. Mouthfeel is smooth and silky. Betters as it warms.
