Bottle. Pours orange\golden with a decent sized white head. Aroma of belgian style spices, citrus, fruit, and musty yeast. Flavor is sweet, smooth, carbonated, citrus, fruity. Not bad, but i have had better tripels.

I cannot for the life of me understand why American micros brew Belgian Ales and leave out the most important step. Again, another without bottle refermentation. This beer was headless, and like any headless date it was not as interesting as it shoud have been. No head retention, thick, clunky body. This tasted like almost no candi sugar at all, is this an all malt tripel??? Completely devoid of the estery snappiness that comes from natural yeasty carbonation. Huge malt fruit flavors, but without the hops to balance. It also lacked the CO2 needed to balance out the sugary thick body that seems to have it’s roots in un-intergrated alcohol levels that would probably be better served at least two percent below the wopping 10 %, Anderson Valley is one of the rare breeds that brews a portfolio that I love and recommend to everyone. They are usually an underated brewery. I love the Dubbel they produce and maybe my expectations were a little high, but then again maybe the price for the bottle was a little high.

I swear this beer is getting a lighter rating because it lacks a yeast layer at the bottom. Despite that, it drinks like a classic Belgium Trippel with a sweet, yeasty Belgius taste that masks an American beer. If that’s your style (as is mine) this beer is above-serviceable alternative to the Belgiums, and a top-notch beer on its own.

22oz bottle. Deep yellow-orange with a medium sized white head. Banana, bubblegum, clove, pineapple yeast ester in the aroma, with caramel and some alcohol. Heavy fruit ester flavor component, muted maltiness. Oily, fusel alcohols dominate later. Some spiciness in the finish, with tinges of alcohol heat and bubblegum. Mouthfeel is medium heavy, somewhat hot.

Poured a honey orange with a light firm head that faded quickly. Aroma is of candy and rubbing alcohol, definately a lot of higher alcohols. Flavor is very sweet and honeyish with a firm sting of alcohol. The finish is confused as the alcohol gives a drying sensation my lips are sticky with residual sugars. Reminds me of a sweet mead.

Bottle. Pours orange\copper with a small white head. Aroma of yeast, citrus, and fruit. Flavor is sweet up-front, belgian spices, yeast. Good body, great brew.

Tap. Terrible pour from bartender at Rogue in SF. Very little head some how, which I question what the heck he did. Sweet, fruity aroma. Brandy like sensation on the palete. A bit to much of an alcohol finish for my preferences.

Bottled. Medium dark orange/reddish color. Strong yeasty aroma, some graininess. A little bubblegum. Sweet yeasty flavor. Some wheat flavor. Slightly creamy feel. Some spiciness. Alcohol is well hidden.
