It reminds me of a spicy belgian sugar cookie, with a light smear of spice in the frosting. Some tangy banana, with just a hint of alcohol behind it, otherwise well masked. Malty and sweet. stubby (326), Santee, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 10, 2006 I give this one a five on palate because it is relatively light in body for its ten percent alcohol. No head whatsoever, except for the tiny bead of white at the edge. Malt candy flavors. They were not afraid to use sugar in this one. Tingle of hoppiness at the finish is almost intriguing. I like it a lot. jimbowood (953), Athens, Georgia, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 23, 2006 brassy as a jailkeeps key chain, the fancy wax-topped triple from anderson valley is clear and has only a few peppery flakes of flotsam deep down in the bottle-- not the river bottom of yeasty silt that many elegant triples have. i miss that. likewise the head is modest at best and gone faster than ten bucks in the hands of a wino. so the copper pour goes bald, won’t lace-- and already we’re wondering about it’s fidelity to style. the nose takes us further down that road of dismay: aroma is of alcohol and amber malts, and neither swirl nor prayer nor vivid imagination will extract much more complexity beyond it’s lightly menthol kind of peachiness. wild unbalanced honey sweetness accosts the tongue first, followed by a stampede of carbonation with nowhere to go, then a bland flavor of apricot jelly and aluminum foil bitterness. this is like a dime-a-dozen amber ale that’s been spiked like an office party punch and sweetened like a breakfast cereal for pre-teens. yuck. clearly you’ve offended the lord, brother david. i shall offer heaven a sacrificial consumption of a dulle teve, and ask that you be given another chance at redemption. Very smooth taste of plums (a surprise) and yeast. Mollasses is very evident as well. Very smooth ending, highly enjoyable. GreenDragon (213), Richmond, Virginia, USA
