Pretty! Like a cat’s eye stone! Smells goooooood. Tastes like summer nights on a wraparound porch!

On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe. Deep amber colour with a thick white head. Sweet and vineous aroma with a bit of yeasty spiciness. Not a terribly complex aroma. Pale malt and sweet vineous flavour. Finishes a little spicy and hot. The body on this needs to come way down to be a triple. Tends to cloyingness.

Bottle: Near coppery hue with a fading fizzy head and minimal lace. The aroma has major fruity esters of apple, pear, and apricot on top of sweet belgian sugar and caramel malting. Additionally I got some clove and juniper berry as well as moderate phenols on the nose. The taste starts with a heavy malty approach supported by a nice dose of ripened fruit. Some acidic notes midesection finshed with a peppery and woody finish. The feel is sharp but a bit coy too. Good but not great beer. Does show signs of a brew that could take to a year or two of aging to mellow out rough edges.

I must say that this had a really weird plastic top on it, like fake wax plastic. Reddish glow, semi transparent with no head i could see. Lots of bannanas and yest in the aroma. Very carbonated up front with some lemon thing going on, but the real deal here is fresh baked bannana bread, this tasted just like a big ol mouthful, slight burnt bitterness at the end. Solid.

I enjoyed this tripel who is with me.......crickets........Ah well anyway a sunkist soda aroma with a hint of lemon and perfume. A dark orange appearance with excellent lacing. The flavor was very earthy with a doughy presence. I get a good deal of bananas and oranges. It blended well. A different take on the style but good nonetheless.

Bottled. Clear, reddish amber body with a white ring for a head. Aroma of clove, fruits (banana, prune, raisin), caramel, alcohol and over all is earthy and coying. Body is medium to light with soft coarse carbonation and lightly dry. Flavor is yeasty sour, fruity (prune, plumb), lightly bitter clove with banana, caramel and noticable alcoholic warmth and flavor. Too much. Unbalanced and rather unpleasant; harsh. A headache in a bottle.

Smells like lemon, citrus, and listerine. melon colored with white head. tastes like astringent, alcohol burn, orange and lemon peels strong carbonation, banana, wheat, flowers, and grass.

Pours with a one-finger white head, fades quickly, and leaves no lace. Nice, clear amber color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is raisiny/alcohol. Starts sweet - more malt than hops, alcohol is noticeable but smooth. AV’s double is better. $6.15 for a 22oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.
