The aroma is primarily of alcohol, but also has some spicy notes. The flavor is very sweet - and very simple - it is of alcohol and coriander, that gives it a dry burning end. Too simple for me - maybe a couple of years of cellaring would do it good? Papsoe (14996), Frederiksberg, Denmark

clear amber, scant head, light sweet malt aroma, rich malt flavor, dark fruit character, nice light spices, not a typical tripple, more like a dubel, alcohol shows after a while

Bright amber colour. A deep whiff shows me some peachy, perfumey notes and light caramel accents. The flavour has a lot of brown sugar sweetness. Alcohol tries in vain to cut through the thick body, ultimately failing and consigning the beer to cloyingness. There is a restrained fruitiness somewhere underneath the sugar but it lacks yeast and hop character entirely, something which is tough to forgive at the best of times, impossible to forgive in a tripel. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 5, 2008 Bottle from Lee’s Discount Liquor, Las Vegas Clean amber color with a fine perlage. Not much aroma. It has a strong body, sweet flavor, too strong alcohol kick. Sweet booze, not a Triple anyway, more like a variation of Malt Liquor, completely missing any Belgian quality factor, any interest; and the big bottle suddenly appears as an ambitious task…
